L&T Valves, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has become the first private enterprise in India to secure the coveted ‘Green Channel Status’ from the Directorate General Quality Assurance (DGQA), Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Mahesh Joshi, Chief Executive and Director, L&T Valves, said: “We are privileged to have been conferred this status, especially since we are the first private sector company in India to achieve this. It is a recognition of the outstanding standards that L&T Valves maintains and the commitment of its employees to develop cutting-edge solutions. This will take us a step closer to the vision to become the most trusted valve company in the world.”

L&T Valves has been accorded the status after stringent audits of its production facilities, quality systems, and products carried out by DGQA. Rear Admiral A. George, Nao Sena Medal, Additional Director General, Quality Assurance (Warship Project), on 22 November formally awarded the ‘Green Channel Status’ to L&T Valves at the QA-Industry Conclave: South Zone in Chennai. Mr. Sameer Godbole, CFO, and Mr. SP Rajanish, GM – Business Development, Special Projects, L&T Valves, received the certificate from him.

Green Channel Policy was introduced in March 2017 by the Ministry of Defence as part of ‘Make in India’ initiative. This allows manufacturers to self-certify their supplies to the Defence Services. L&T Valves is a global leader in flow-control solutions that makes state-of-the-art valves for key sectors like oil & gas, power, petrochemicals, chemicals, water as well as defence and aerospace. L&T Valves has manufacturing facilities in USA, Saudi Arabia and India, and a marketing network that spans the globe.
