Latest List of LWE affected districts – April 2018

As a result of a review of the Left Wing Extremism affected districts in India, 90 districts in 11 States are now covered by the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) Scheme which is mainly applied to areas under Left Wing Extremism. The list of ‘Most Affected Districts’ has been pruned to 30, down from 36.

 Of the 90 LWE-affected districts listed 19 are in Jharkhand, 16 in Bihar, 15 in Odisha, 14 in Chhattisgarh, 8 in Telangana, 6 in Andhra Pradesh, 3 each in Maharashtra, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh, 2 in Madhya Pradesh and 1 in West Bengal. 08 new districts have been added to the list of SRE districts.

30 most affected districte– 13 are in Jharkhand, 8 in Chhattisgarh, 4 in Bihar, 2 in Odisha and 1 each in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra.
