Indian and Sri Lankan military personnel and families exchange visits under cultural program
In a follow up of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s solidarity visit to Sri Lanka, 160 Indian Armed Forces personnel and their families arrived in Sri Lanka today on a cultural exchange hosted by SriLankan Army while 160 Sri Lankan Armed Forces personnel and their families left for India.
India’s High Commissioner Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Commander of Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake sent off the Sri Lankan Armed Forces Personnel and their families for a special visit to Bodh Gaya on-board an Indian Air Force Aircraft.
This is the second special visit by Sri Lankan Armed Forces to Bodh Gaya. They will also be visiting Sujatagarh Stupa, Nalanda and Rajgir, the Indian High Commission said in its official Twitter feed.
Meanwhile, the Indian military personnel will be paying respects at Sri Dalada Maligawa, and visit Kandy and Galle.
