Construction of China Aided Pakistan’s Livelihood Projects Starts in Gwadar
According to Xinhua News Agency news dated 16 Dated 2019, China’s two people’s livelihood projects for vocational technical college and hospital in Pakistan have been officially started on 16 December 2019 at Gwadar in the southwestern coast of Balochistan province in Pakistan.
It is said that the total construction area of the vocational and technical college project is more than 7500 square meters, including classrooms, laboratories, reading rooms, dormitories for students, faculty, and so on. The project was undertaken by China Harbour Engineering Co Ltd. The planned construction period is about 19 months.
The total construction area of the hospital project is about 12000 square meters, which was undertaken by Gansu Construction Investment (Holding) Group Corporation, with a planned construction period of two years. The completed modern integrated hospital will have 150 beds.
On the groundbreaking (starting construction work) ceremony day (16 Dec), the Balochistan province finance minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and the people and hoped that these two people’s livelihood projects will help Gwadar to develop local human resources and improve medical treatment conditions and standards.
Wang Zhihua, the Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, said that all the Chinese aided projects in Gwadar have demonstrated the Chinese government’s commitment to help Gwadar to achieve development and advocate win-win cooperation. He hoped that Pakistan would continue to provide support for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project and help the projects under construction complete successfully.
