Border area students meet President of India

As part of the Assam Rifles Civic Action Project, a unit of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles has organised a national integration tour (NIT) for a team of 15 students and two teachers from various schools of Singhat village, said a release by PIB (Defence Wing).

The press release said that the tour was flagged off from Khuga on Jan 6. The 14-day tour is conducted with an aim to educate the students about the heritage, diversity and the developmental strides made by our country in various fields. It will also foster the spirit of national integration and give the students an opportunity to appreciate the vastness of our country.

The team had a rare privilege of meeting the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind on today. During the interaction ceremony, one student shared his personal experience about the tour and presented a memento to the President.

After their visit to Delhi, the students will visit Agra to get a glimpse into the rich

heritage of our country and visit the world famous Taj Mahal, added the release.
