Australian Government gifts three Stabicraft to Sri Lanka Coast Guard

 The Australian Government demonstrating the close maritime security cooperation with Sri Lanka has gifted three Stabicraft vessels to the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to strengthen its capacity.

The three vessels were handed over to the Sri Lanka Coast Guard during a ceremony held at SLNS Rangalla in the Colombo harbor premises Friday.

 State Minister of Defense, Ruwan Wijewardene graced the event as the Chief Guest. Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva was also present on this occasion.

The Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Bryce Hutchesson formally handed over the three craft to the State Minister Ruwan Wijewardene and Director Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Samantha Wimalathunga.

Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Jagath Ranasinghe, Deputy Chief of Staff and Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and a large number of Navy and Coast Guard officers were also present on this significant occasion.
